Wonderful Dog Sam

My Miracle Man, SAM

Be sure to check out Sam’s Cancer Fighting Diet

Our pets are our best friends.  Their health, happiness and longevity are directly connected to their diet which is our responsibility.

This is a picture of my wonderful SAM (Sam Man) who, sadly, was diagnosed with the aggressive blood and mass tumor cancer, hemangiosarcoma. SAM enjoyed 53 weeks of play and love when he was given only a maximum of 6 to 8 weeks.  But it is with great sadness and heartache that the cancer returned and took his life on July 22, 2010.  (The photo above was taken after his diagnosis). I share with you my carefully controlled RAW diet,  Sam’s Cancer Diet, that, I believe, helped to provide those many joyous weeks beyond his prognosis.  You see, SAM’s heart breaking condition prompted me to conduct major research and exploration into dog diets. I can't be certain but it is possible that my SAM's condition could have been exacerbated by the quality of food he received over the years.  I believed the advertisements and carefully purchased a well known national brand that I thought was quality food.  If I knew then what I have since learned I would have avoided corn, wheat and soy grains, animal by-products, corn gluten, "meat and bone" meals, "natural" flavoring and many other undesirable ingredients.  Quality food may cost a little more but if it means a potentially longer and happier life with fewer vet bills then the price is well worth it.  Their lives are in our hands.

Here are two excellent articles that opened my eyes to the truths, myths and lies about dog foods.  The first one is long but well worth reading.

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME, FOR YOUR PET’S SAKE.
